The Film!
Behold! My very first short film! This was interesting to put together. I was co-director/producer with the super hilarious talented amazing Ayla Beck!!It was interesting seeing how we worked together to make decisions on the film and to keep each other motivated. Without any school or film festival to keep us in line, we just put together our heads and kept up on each other. This was... originally supposed to be a summer film (aka like 3 months) however life doesn't really work out that way so we ended up working on it more here and there. Still not done yet lolIt doesnt help that when we're together, the stories we come up with get more and more complex and weird and super long to the point they wont really fit in a short. So it took us a long while to even get our idea down!
How We Found Our Story
We both watch a LOT of LocalScriptMan on Youtube (check it out), so we took his advice on writing short films and fought our overthinking brains to CHILL and keep it SIMPLE. Ironically enough, we decided to center our short around this struggle of "Overthinking"Anywho, this little short ended up inspired by my real life! For context, I am a very anxious person who hates wasting money.Once I went out shopping with my friend we came upon some discounted eyeliner (something I was in short supply of) and so I proceeded to spend like 20 mins debating between like 3 different brands. They were all just $5... After my friend came back from her perusing, she convinced me to tear myself away from the shelf. So I bought one. I got home and tried it out. And... it was so dry and non-pigmented. :/ My precious time wasted. We needed a story so I said "FUCK IT. Let's just retell this moment but make it weird looking". And Ayla said "cool let's do it"
Our Inspirations
Our main inspirations came from things like:Chowder, Adventure Time, Powerpuff Girls,
Star vs The Forces of Evil,Worthikids, Bee and Puppycat,MeowWolf (MeowWolf video is a little flashy/glitchy if you're sensitive to that)and my favorite webcomic ever Broccoli Soup!!Also a bunch of other goofy things hehe
ROTATION
Wee look at them go!!Doing the character design for these guys was a lot of fun. I think Chez is my favorite hehe.Funnily enough I wasnt a huge fan of Grum when I made him, but Ayla LOVED him. And somehow she wasnt a fan of Chez in turn.So we were a bit of opposites there, but we kept both of them. We love these weird guys.
Scribble Scrabble
This was my first time boarding something longer than a couple shots. Coming up with ideas is hard!!! I kept falling into the trap of "gotta make this shot perfect" that every time I sat down to board I would get so anxious I just couldn't!But I found a way around it. And that is doodling!By doodling in my sketchbook and just getting random thoughts out for shots, we were able to scrap them all together in sequence and make essentially our "sticky note" pass.
Ayla had a lot of insight when it came to planning shots and sequences. She was quick to cut out anything that was super repetitive or the same joke twice (something I noticed I kept relying on a LOT when I didnt know what to do) and by talking it out we were able to replace or sew together scenes that kept our story moving! You be grateful that not every punchline is just Chez making some weird face O_O

Finally Animation
Once again we did our best to be efficient and cheap to save our animators and ink/paint the time! We decided to use as minimal frames as possible. It gives it a unique jittery feel so now our entire style is based around how easy can we make this while still keeping it looking clean.
Adventure Awaits in The Secret of the Golden Key
A family friendly visual novel/point and click choose your own adventure! Meant to help make reading fun and accessible. It's summer break and your parent's have decided to leave you with your grandparents for a week. An entire week! On a mountain, in the middle of nowhere.Unlock strange new worlds of imagination as you explore your grandparent's mansion, and meet a cast of quirky and mysterious characters that may (or may not) be real. You can play the prologue right now on Steam!
I joined the project in October 2023. Originally to just help create a prototype of the game before another artist could be hired on. But the style seemed to stick and I was invited to work on the rest of the game!I aimed for a very simplistic and colorful look. The animation was made intentionally minimal using fading frames and tweens. The lasso tool is my FAVORITE thing to use here. 2nd favorite is the airbrush... 3rd is the warp tool. With their powers combined Im able to go straight into the final piece and make adjustments as I go.
This was my first time working on a larger collaborative project!Being the only artist on the team, I was really pushed to be versatile. Designing every single character, environment, and prop on the fly.
There's still so much to study and get better at. My current big thing Ive been working on is interior environments! Focusing on the perspective, lighting, man made objects, stuff like that. Its so different from what Im used to!The developers are wonderful and incredibly patient and caring, giving me lots of detail and references to work off of and encouraging me when I was really struggling. I could not have chosen a better more determined group of people for my first time on a larger project.
Since this project was bigger than my usual commissions, I decided to write out a contract and get it looked over by a real lawyer!! Using The Standard Form of Agreement for Design Services as a base template provided by the AIGA. As well as a few books to study contract law, drafting, and redlining!I looked online for lawyers and firms in my city that specialized in artists and contracts, and were within my budget, and I found one I REALLY liked!! I think I really lucked out heheThat whole journey made me feel very cool and adult lol. And now contracts don't feel like stressful jibberish anymore! :D

A single issue comic Im creating with my girlfriend!A little Robot going down to a post apolocyptic city. Submerged in the deep ocean. On the search for a certain crystal... Running into a cult of scrap and steel... An animatronic dragon lurks to feast on its sacrifice. We were inspired a lot by Adventure Time and Gendy Tarokavsky for this! She's the writer and I'm the artist! But we both dabble in each others fields. Shes very cool and good at words :DWe've just started working on this lol so everything is VERY much a work in progress. But it has been very fun so far!
Here's some things I've drawn for it so far

Commission Frequently Asked Questions
☆What does the process look like?
Terms of Service!
- Before anything, please go over my Commission Terms of Service!! This is all the legal stuff you will be agreeing to when you commission me!!Contact!
- To start this whole process, first you gotta contact me! You can email me at [email protected]. All you gotta do is say "Hi! I'd like to commission you for XYZ" and I'll be like "Heck ya!! Let's do this!" And I can walk you through step by step from there. And for all the socially anxious people out there, I am also very very socially anxious, I totally get it lol. You can contact me online however feels most comfortable to you and don't worry if you're not sure what to do/say, I'll ask all the questions I need and always make sure you have the opportunity to bring up any questions/concerns. And I do not mind at all if you'd prefer to talk casually or formally, I am versed in both! :DAlso, there is never any rush to get back to me or send payments or anything, I am always willing to work at whatever pace the client sets! Just know I won't be able to continue any progress on your commission until I get a response/payment and I can find the time to work on your project after your response (so if I end up busy or on vacation or something by the time you respond, it might take me a while to get back to you/start working lol), so if you're in no rush then neither am I!Discuss!
I will ask you a bunch of questions about your project! Some artistic visual problem-solving stuff like: What is the overall scene we are creating, what kind of mood do we want the piece to have, what details do we want to add, what are the character(s) personalities and stories, etc.As well as some more business-y stuff like: Are you in any kind of rush to get this commission finished, what do you plan on using the art for, is this a project you want to keep private until release, is the price I give you within your budget, etc.And of course, I'll be sure to send to you a link to my TOS and make sure you know that by commissioning me these are the terms you are agreeing to.Pay!
- Once we have all the info we need and a solid idea down of what you're looking for, then I'll send you a link to my Ko-fi (or send you an emailed invoice if you prefer that instead) and you can go ahead and pay the full price we agreed upon. Once it's paid in full I can get to work!- Please do NOT pay me ANYTHING until I send an invoice or link to my Ko-Fi. If you do I'll probably just refund you the money minus any credit card/transaction fees (So you might lose a few dollars).Check the Progress!
- You can check out the real time progress I make on your commission over on my Trello! It'll have all your commission info, what stage your commission is at, and how much time I've spent on it so far!Edits!
As I work on the commission I will send work in progress images and ask any questions I might have. This is a very convenient time to request any edits or changes to the commission!- Just know the longer the commission goes on, the harder it is to change stuff. If you ask for an edit late in the game that feels like a big change after we've already got a lot done, (ie. I have to throw away a bunch of work and start over.) editing fees may apply. If they do, we can talk about it and figure out a plan together!- So it's best to call out stuff you notice as soon as you can! Please don't be afraid to critique my work!! I honestly take no offense for it and just see it as you helping me make the best piece I can!Delivery!
- When you're satisfied with the commission or you run out of final edits to make, I will send you the finished product at full resolution (and any specified resolutions) without any watermarks via Google Drive or Dropbox.- Please download your files and back them up if you can! I am only required to have your files available for 30 days minimum. After that I can take them down whenever I want in order to save space in my Google Drive/Dropbox. I usually only take down the really really old commission files, but if I took yours down and you forgot to download or you lost your files, you can contact me and I'll probably have it and can send it to you again, no problem!
☆When and how do I pay?
- I currently only accept USD through Ko-fi or emailed invoice.
- Please pay upfront in full! Once I receive the payment I will begin working on the commission.
☆When will my commission be done?
- Depending on what kind of commission it is, my schedule, how busy I am, and how many edits you request for the piece, the time it takes for your piece to be finished will vary.
- Usually the lower budget pieces will take a week or so while more complex things can take around a month or more to complete.
- However, if you need a piece to be done by a specific deadline, we can discuss it, and I can assure you it will be finished by the deadline.
- If you need a piece to be finished within two weeks or less of the day you contacted me to commission it, rush fees may apply.
☆What is a head shot / half body / full body?
These are terms artist use to determine how much of the body is being illustrated in a piece. The more of the body that is drawn, the more that the piece will cost.- Head shots typically show the top of the head to the shoulders/middle of the chest.- Half bodies typically show the top of the head to the waist or hip.- Full bodies just have the entire character drawn, from the top of their head to their shoes.

☆What kind of stuff do you make?
- For commissions I mainly make Digital Illustration, some Emotes, and sometimes Character Design.
- If you are looking for something not listed on my commission page or want something done for a bigger more long term project, you can check out my contract project page instead!
✓✓✓- I am comfortable drawing gore, some profanity, Humans, Animals, Anthros/Furries, Cartoons/Anime, All body types and races, OCs, People from photos, Dynamic scenes, Machinery, and Color pallets.
✕✕✕ - However I am not comfortable drawing Copyrighted Character/Characters you do not legally have the rights of, Sexual themes, NSFW, Abuse of a person or substance, Fetishes, Exaggerated characteristics that could be fetishized or considered racist/transphobic/fatphobic/ableist, and Discriminatory depictions.
- If I know for a fact the commission is outside of my capabilities or comfort, I will let you know before you pay me.
☆How can I use my commissioned piece?
- You can use your commissioned art for any personal use or to support the small businesses of sole proprietors and independents. This means you can use your commissioned piece as screensavers, icons, headers, page dolls, emotes, stream alerts, etc. as long as you are not a big business, company, corporation, or entity and you're not directly profiting off my work.
- You may not sell the art itself, sell it on any merchandise, use the art to design merchandise, add the art to an AI dataset, or turn the commissioned art into an NFT without my written consent as commercial fees may apply.
- If you are a larger business, company, corporation or entity, commercial fees will absolutely apply.
☆Can I get my commission as a print/sticker?
If you plan on selling it or using it for advertising or making a profit off my work in any way, you need to get written permission from me first! And depending on how/what exactly you're selling from my work, commercial fees may apply. However, if you're just printing it for yourself, or making a gift for your friends/family, GO FOR IT. That's so cool!! I'd still love to know that you printed it just cause it makes me feel cool seeing my work existing in other people's real life.
☆What if I want multiple characters in a single piece?
If you want multiple characters, typically the price will increase by 50% of the original price. However, this varies for different types of work.- For example, a cutout style piece ($25) of two characters (+50% of the Original Price) would be 25+(25×.50)= $37.50
☆What can be used as a reference?
For character reference I accept reference sheets, other drawings of the same character, your own drawing of the character (even if you think it's sloppy or confusing), and photographs. As long as the design itself is owned by you or you have documented permission that you can commission art of that character!Any references for poses, expressions, general compositions, lighting, color pallets, environments, camera angles, whatever, can be pretty much anything lol, as long as it helps describe what you're going for!
☆Can I reference a specific art style?
For commissions, eehhh nope. Not really. If it's a style I have posted on my commission page, then heck ya that's the style we're doing. But if you want me to mimic another artist/media's style that I don't have displayed on this site, then sorry :/If you want still want a specific art style, you can check out my skill range in my portfolio for contract projects and see if I make anything similar to what you're looking for. If you're interested in signing a contract with me you can contact me and give examples of the style you're looking for and I'll let you know if it's something I can do!
If you're new to commissioning an artist, don't know exactly what I offer, or just want to make sure you don't miss any info, you can fill out a commission form! This form will take you step by step through every detail we will need. With this form you are free to send me multiple responses, you can submit it and still be able to change your response later if you change your mind before I get back to you, and you can ask me any questions you have directly from it! I will respond to you using the information you provided and we can discuss and confirm the plan for the thing you want! |
If you've commissioned me before or know how this goes, then you can simply read through my terms of service before DMing me on Discord or Twitter, or even emailing me at [email protected]. Tell me what idea you have in mind, send me any references if you feel it is necessary, ask me any questions you have. Then I will get back to you as soon as I can and we can discuss it all! |
☆How many edits can be made on a piece?
You are free to make as many edits as you want (within reason) when your commission is still in a rough draft state. But once your commission is completely finished, you can only request 3 minor edits for free, any large edits or extra small edits will have an added fee.
☆What do you draw?
For simple commissions I mainly make Digital Illustrations, Animations, or Character Designs in my style. -- Most other stuff is done by contract.
✓✓✓- I am comfortable drawing gore, some profanity, Humans, Animals, Anthros/Furries, Cartoons/Anime, All body types and races (as long as it's not in a fetishized or racist/fatphobic/transphobic/ableist manner), OCs, People from photos, Dynamic scenes, Machinery, and Color pallets.
Rate and Process Summary
After discussing your project and understanding the level of commitment, complexity, and iterations required, I will give you an estimated price expected to be paid by project or by item at a flat fee (not by hourly rate), and we can negotiate from there.I'm also willing to work within the budget available, as long as we have well discussed the expectations for both me as the artist and you as the client.

My Rate
I prefer to work at a flat rate that I quote once I get an understanding of the scope and commitment of your project.
Contact me at [email protected] to discuss your project!Depending on the project I may expect to be paid in full up front, or 50% upon assignment and 50% upon completion.I am comfortable working with smaller projects (ie less than $1000) and therefore within smaller budgets. However, certain things like polish, quantity, iteration, timeframe, and commitment will all be impacted.
Negotiating Contracts
Contracts are very important to me and I take them very seriously! I work with my lawyer to make sure all contracts I propose are fully legal and protected. When negotiating contracts, I want to do the best I can to propose a contract that works in both of our favors. I want to listen to your concerns and consider your limitations as I draft. If you'd like to propose the contract, do anticipate that I may request some changes to the draft before signing.
Type of Work
I mainly focus on illustration, animation, and visual development.I design characters, environments, and props, as well as turnarounds, expression sheets, and general exploration. I create posters, comic art, videogame assets, storyboards, and animated scenes. My favorite genres are action, comedy, and drama. I love adding dynamic lighting, poses, or perspectives where I can that help express the feeling within a scene. But I can also tone it down and do simple silly stuff too!
Experience
I am going to be completely honest up front and say, I am still very new to this scene! Doing more long term contract work for bigger interpersonal projects and not just little commissions here and there, is definitely a change for me.But I am adamant about taking on this next step, this type of work is what I've been striving towards for years! I greatly appreciate your consideration as I grow as an artist and business owner. Thank you!For the most up to date interpersonal projects I've worked on (that I'm allowed to share on this site), please check out my Team Projects page. It has a directory of some of the team projects I've worked on. Each one contains samples of the work I contributed, my general experience from the project, and what I learned from being a part of it!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time written by Paul Allor and Erik Burnham with art by Sophie Campbell, Charles Paul Wilson III, Ben Bates, and Dan Duncan
Now surpisingly, I'm not the biggest fan of IDW's TMNT in general. Im sorry lol. To me it's all just people standing around and talking about drama without ever actually seeing it. What I'm looking for is creative action and emotional impact!! And I find that in TMNT Turtles in Time.
What I absolutely love about this is that for each time the turtles get sent to a differt period, you get a different artist, which really gives each one a specific feel. What I also absolutely love about this and fits in my brain so well, is each turtle gets their own spotlight in each chapter, and they shine so well!!! Each one gets to explore a part of themselves and it's just so satisfying to me. These moments in time of course impact the rest of the story, giving us glimpses to a potential future, the dire stakes of the present, and planting seeds in the past. And like always, it's got some really funny bits that always make me smile hehe.
Nova: Ressurection by Jeff Lovenes, Ramon Perez, and Scot Hepburn
I LOVE NOVA. I'd say he's comparable to a Spider-man in space, except the responsibility is even bigger and our Sam Alexander is a quite a bit dumber lol. But what he makes up for his smarts are his strong morals, he is a good kid at heart and even when he makes mistakes, he is very skilled at making amends and rolling with the punches, which is perfect when dealing with the wild west of space.
Ressurection is probably my favorite book of the entire Nova series. But I reccomend taking a look at backstory of this new generation of Nova and maybe take a peek at the Champions (basically the Gen Z generation of the Avengers) that all come before this story. I think it gives you some good context (for both plot and jokes) and much needed emotional impact for this specific comic.
You can try reading in this order:
Nova: Origin
Nova: Rookie Season
Nova: Nova Corpse
Nova: Burnout
Nova: Afterburn
Champions: Change the World

About Katt
Hihi! I am Katt (They/Any pronouns), a digital artist, animator, and a bunch of other stuff! After officially starting my freelance business in 2021 I've been on a quest to make cool stuff with cool people! As I grow, I'm drawn more and more towards indie games, films, comics, bands, and even websites! I notice some of the coolest creations in media today are coming from the indie scene and I so badly wanna be a part of it. I'm always looking for more opportunities to get together with other creators to make that cool stuff, its always so fun and fulfilling!hm.. what else about me thats not just art stuff...OH! I also LOVE to make playlists. Mainly for my versions of characters. I listen to a bunch of genres and try to make each playlist have a much different sound from the other. You can find me as NotSoKatt on SpotifyAnd speaking of my versions of characters, I have a tendency to take my favorite media and all its different versions, pick out my favorite stuff, put it in a blender, then puzzle it back together into my own story. I have done this to absolute death with Ninja Turtles. It is my absolute favorite thing. Fills me with immense joy. I love ninja turtles.OH!! And one last little fun fact about me, my persona is a little fairy demon guy! Surprisingly not a cat, which a lot of people assume. So I am Not So Katt!Ok thats all I got for now, thanks for stopping by and learning about meeee :D
Looking to talk to me for whatever reason?Feel free to contact me through email at [email protected] or use this handy form!I try to get back to people as soon as I can, but reply times may greatly vary.

I have done this to absolute death with Ninja Turtles. My google doc for it is... Very long. But the story and character/environment designs feel pretty solid now and I'm running out of material O_O". So now I have to find like. A new thing to add on to it. So far it looks like I'm heading into Transformers and Ben 10 territory, so yay aliens! I've decided they all exist in the same TMNT universe, just... not all in New York. So ya that's what I spend my days day dreaming about.OH!! And one last little fun fact about me, my persona is a little fairy demon guy! Surprisingly not a cat, which a lot of people assume.
